Here's the truth. Why we eat what we eat is different for EVERYONE! And, until we realize this, we'll continue arguing solution methods until we're mad.

Gut (biome) Check!

After enough time is wasted and research money is pissed away, in the end...donuts and Cheetos will still NOT be health foods. Spinach and broccoli will still be.

Gut biome...shmut biome!

Recent studies showing how human beings differ in the processing/metabolizing of the same food is raising eyebrows! Not mine! 


EVERY human being will respond differently to EVERY food. We're ALL different! However, what's in your gut is less important than the overall PATTERN of eating, over time. To parse an individual diet into individual foods for the perfect individual shot at health and longevity is just INSANE...and uniquely American.

The longest-lived, disease-free people on the planet in the Blue Zones don't give a shit about any of this. They just eat real food, lots of veggies, drink a little wine, dance, relax, move a lot every day, and have a sense of purpose.

Creating the PERFECT tailored diet is INSANE for the general population!!!!

We eat too much added sugar, added fat, refined carbs, processed shit, fried shit, and junk. That's it. More veggies, less junk is a great start. It doesn't need to be perfect.

This gut stuff is insane. Next we'll be learning about colon bacteria. Who gives a shit (pun intended)? 

Fork and mouth biome trumps gut biome...which is just a new way for research dweebs to get funding and others to make excuses for poor eating and poor health. 


We eat horribly (below). It makes us sick.

​We simply need to start with eating LESS horribly by eating less YELLOW, more GREEN.

No gut check needed!!!

Nutrient Insanity (Kale)

To the defenders, lovers, marketers, growers, and those that shout discoveries from every mountain...


yes, kale is wonderfully nutritious.  I agree.

But, can we please take a break from the worshipping - please! It's making us look a little...fickle. 

In fact, I know a few other wonderfully nutritious friends that feel overlooked as we reduce our diets to kale brownies, kale smoothies, kale chips, kale butter, kale cakes, kale pesto, smoked kale, and kale cereal.

And, until we got bored and needed something new to fuel our nutritionally attention-distracted disorder, kale was used to line grocery store display cases for every other fresh fish or food item. It's tough, bitter, and when you boil it for a hour, it does soften a bit. (chop it or julienne it for best raw results...and to go easiest on your jaw)     

Don't even get me started on quinoa!

I've already heard from blueberries, plums, apples, sweet potatoes, red peppers, yellow peppers, raspberries, brown rice, corn, romaine, spinach and broccoli...so far. 

They think we're suffering from nutrient insanity.
