Want to get healthy? Eat better? Lose weight? Weight Watchers works. The Dash Diet Works. The Twinkie Diet works. Atkins works. Starving yourself works. Cutting out sugar works. Cutting out fat works. Exercising more and eating less works. Reducing portion sizes works. EVERYTHING works for a while. But over time, something isn’t working. Relapse is huge!
The problem is, everything I mentioned are just tools. And, we seem to put our faith in tools over and over, again. Talk to 40 different people and you’ll here 40 different explanations of why one tool works or doesn’t work. Again, we mistakenly put our faith in tools.
The real answer is in the heart and soul. If the change you want engages the heart and soul, then you’ll find a tool to support you in that effort. The solution is not in the tool, but in how deeply the desired change goes! Don’t put the cart in front of the horse….and don’t but the health tool in front of the desire. Feel what good health would mean in your life or a family member’s life. Start there…before you pick out a tool.
