Too often skipped or missing, these are the most important FIRST two steps to sustaining a healthy change. Following these FIRST two steps increases your chances for long-term success dramatically. The steps are very very simple…but I assure you, NOT easy!
1) Get your heart and soul into it
This step is by far (a million miles) the most important, proven, and most often overlooked step to ANY sustained healthy change.
Decide WHY good health is important to you AND what it would mean to you and/or your loved ones’, if you were truly healthy. Set aside and take your time thinking about your life’s aspirations, about the energy and vitality of the one life you have, and about the impact you have on others by your example. If the reasons for you to be healthy find themselves comfortably of your heart and soul, by your heart and soul, and for your heart and soul, you’re ready for step 2. You have a great shot at success! Good luck!
2) Daily, connect with your heart and soul, think about your reasons to be healthy, and follow your heart and soul to better health
It’s been proven that to sustain positive permanent change, it starts in your brain. You have to think about your reasons to be healthy…consciously, consistently, daily, in order to sustain you through the obstacles and temptations from good health. Where your mind goes, your actions of good health will follow. The good news – the thinking part doesn’t cost a thing, doesn’t need to be mixed in a blender, and doesn’t require a paid membership. It’s NOT easy in the beginning. However, if you keep doing it, it WILL become easy!
AND…relax…don’t beat yourself up for the past. If the reasons for change are in your heart and soul, you’ll find the best way forward. You’ll seek out the right information and the right support. You’ll make the best choices. It’ll just happen. Engage your heart and soul, daily, and you’ll succeed. If you find yourself struggling in step 2, go back to step 1. When the reasons are right (for you), step 2 becomes much easier.
Good luck!
